Yorkshire Chauffeurs grew out of the realisation that the needs of business were changing again.
Years ago captains of industry routinely employed chauffeurs but that was more of a perk than anything and gradually began to be seen as extravagent, a use of money that was not appreciated by shareholders
or employees.
In the eighties and nineties they drove themselves but now things have moved on again. Today senior people work under such pressure that they need more support. To be driven has moved on from being merely a pleasure; it has become a necessity.
Our clients routinely work twelve and fourteen hour days. They know that doing it all themselves only leads to exhaustion and reduced performance. They know that the cost of being driven is modest when
compared with the value of their work. And they know that they can achieve a great deal more with our help.
In the back of our cars they are on the phone, concentrating hard on intense conversations, figures spread out, Blackberries and laptops to hand. They hold meetings on the move, dictate complex documents, and organise their diaries with their secretaries. And they know that trying to drive while doing even one of these things is impossible without seriously compromising safety.
In our care they get picked up from the door whenever they are ready and can then forget routes, traffic or parking, being delivered right to the door of their next destination. They use the time on the move really effectively. They devote all their energy to their work, rather than seeing it wasted through the stress of driving.
